“Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgement; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship”
- Brené Brown
About Me
Hi, I’m Olivia. I am a passionate and deeply empathetic person, resolutely committed to the field of psychology and mental health. Although I work in most spaces of early mental health intervention, I have a special interest in pursuing further study in the field of sexology. Challenging the ‘taboo’, dispelling shame, and acknowledging autonomy is something I myself have worked on in my own therapy. And although it has been difficult at times, it has empowered me to move on from negative emotions and experiences that were obscuring the possibilities for harmony and growth in my life.
As Carl Rogers wrote, “Life is about being and becoming.” I hold this as a gentle reminder that we are allowed to accept ourselves as we are, while also growing into who we are becoming. Because we exist within constantly changing environments and relationships, our understanding of ourselves is always evolving. And yet, adapting to this change can feel overwhelming, especially when old wounds remain unhealed or when we lose touch with ourselves.
In these moments, it can be hard to hold both being and becoming on our own. But we don’t have to. With support, compassion, and genuine care, it becomes easier to stay connected to who we are, while continuing to grow.

Please Note
Psychological and psychiatric diagnosis in South Africa can only be offered by a HPCSA registered psychologist or psychiatrist. However, as an ASCHP counsellor, I am trained to notice symptoms that may warrant a referral to one of the above practitioners.
